Während des Symposions Carintiale, entstand eine Weiterentwicklung des MIDAS-Themas. Ikarus der aufgrund seines Übermuts in seinem Höhenflug der Sonne zunahe kommt und abstürrzt, dient diesem Werk als Metapher der Utopie und der Gier einer Gesellschaft, die nach ewigen Wachstum ihres Reichtums strebt. Die Ironie, die sich beim Aufhängen des Objekts ereignete, war dass der übermütige – aber durchaus liebenswürdiger – Helfer zu Sturz kam, und das fragile Objekt mit sich riss. Der gebrochene Flügel wurde dann Bestandteil der Ausstellung und durch eine Zeichnung erweitert – das eigentliche Objekt wurde ergänzt und wiederhergestellt. Die Herstellungstechnik ist ähnlich wie bei MIDAS, allerdings wurde das Material bei IKARUS nicht fixiert, dadurch reagiert er auf Luftfeuchtigkeit mit Oxidation und zersetzt sich im Laufe der Zeit.

During the symposium Carintiale, further development of the MIDAS theme emerged. Icarus, who due to his abundance during the flight to the sun, came too close and crashed. Referring to his story, this work serves as a metaphor for utopia and the greed of a society that strives for the eternal growth of their wealth. When the object was to be hanged, the cocky but gracious helper crashed, destroying the fragile object as well, adding another layer of irony to work. The broken wing then became part of the exhibition, expanded with a drawing. The actual object was completed and restored. The manufacturing technique is similar to MIDAS, but the material on IKARUS was not fixed. Thus it reacts to atmospheric moisture with oxidation and decomposes over time.
